Bring the scents of the autumn garden and holiday kitchen indoors!
In this hands on workshop, we will create beautiful botanical potpourri using dried herbs, flowers, fruits, spices, and essential oils. Learn the old-fashioned art of combining botanicals for fragrance, color, texture, and lasting appeal—and discover how a natural fixative such as orris root helps hold the fragrance in your finished blend.
We will work with an assortment of rustic dried herbs and botanicals, along with colorful seasonal ingredients such as dried orange, rose hips, cinnamon, star anise, and other natural accents. You will learn how to build a potpourri blend that is as beautiful to look at as it is wonderful to smell using warm autumn and festive holiday-inspired scents. Each student will make approximately 2.5 cups of finished potpourri to take home - perfect for a bowl, entry table, bathroom, bedroom, or a thoughtful handmade holiday gift.
